AJ Lucas
AJ was born in Kansas City, MO, and grew up primarily in the Scottsdale/Cave Creek area. He has dedicated the past seven years to transforming backyards across the state. Specializing in swimming pool sales, AJ has helped countless families turn their outdoor spaces into vibrant areas of fun, relaxation, and cherished memories. Whether creating a lively environment for family gatherings or a serene retreat for personal solace, AJ’s expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction shine through in every project.
Jim O’Connor
Jim has been enjoying creating backyard dreams for families for over 40 years now. Helping customers to be able to keep their families happy and together enjoying their pool project is very satisfying.
Chris Orio
Chris is a senior pool designer at Tribal Waters. Chris has a real passion for design, and it shows in the creativity and imagination he brings to your home’s exterior. With over a decade of experience he has worked on an extremely diverse range of projects. From simple “pool only” designs, to complete yard transformations that turn your outdoor space into something spectacular. His ability to understand and translate client’s needs into visually striking designs truly sets him apart.
Bill Gullekson
Bill is originally from Minnesota and a resident of Arizona since the early 80’s. He started in the Pool Industry in 1983 with Design and Management Positions including Residential, Commercial, Water Feature and Landscape Creations throughout Arizona. To date, 35 International Design Awards. Most importantly, a history of referrals earned based upon the theme of Customer Advocacy.
Derek Sabor
Derek has a strong background in construction and a degree in Architecture, giving him a solid understanding of pool renovations and new builds. He simplifies the remodeling process with clear communication and an emphasis on honesty and transparency, ensuring clients feel informed and confident throughout. Starting in pool remodeling in California in 2019, Derek swiftly became an essential member, receiving several accolades for his outstanding performance. Known for his enthusiasm, humor, and approachable nature, he cultivates a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere for every project.
Kane Adkins
With 27+ years’ experience in residential design and construction, Kane approaches each pool & landscape project with a fresh vision. His expertise balances four key dynamics: Aesthetics, Functionality, Customer Service, and Value. Say goodbye to boring! With passionate creativity and attention to detail, Kane brings insight into the total yard concept to maximize beauty, bring outdoor spaces to life, and communicate excellence in every design.
Abraham Nuno
As a Pool Designer with Tribal Waters, Abraham brings a hands-on, customer-focused approach to the entire design and sales process. With over 20 years of experience in design, customer service, and sales, his focus is on creating tailored solutions while ensuring the experience remains clear, honest, and stress-free from start to finish. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Abraham works closely with Spanish-speaking clients, helping guide new construction projects with confidence and clarity.
Alex Mendez
Alex helps homeowners make smart, confident decisions about their outdoor spaces. With more than two decades in the pool industry and years spent running and managing pool companies across both residential and commercial projects, he brings a rare perspective that blends design, construction and real world project leadership.
His role goes far beyond selecting finishes or equipment. Alex looks at how a backyard or facility will function over time, how it will be maintained, and how every choice impacts long term value. Whether improving an existing pool, planning a major remodel or shaping a new design, he guides clients through the process with integrity, care and attention to detail.
Having worked on everything from daily service to large scale commercial and residential renovations, Alex understands what works and what fails once a project is finished and the owner has to live with it. Grounded in faith and a strong sense of service, his focus is helping people create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful but built to perform and last.
John Hinton
John is a versatile sales representative whose career spans ministry, entrepreneurship, and award‑winning craftsmanship. For eight years, he served in pastoral ministry, taking on roles including Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor, Assistant to the Pastor, and Executive Pastor. His time in ministry shaped his strengths in leadership, communication, team development, and guiding people through meaningful life events.
While serving in full‑time ministry, John built a successful career as a self‑employed entrepreneur in the pool industry, teaching himself the art and technical skill of pool service, remodeling and design. Over the course of ten years, he established a reputation for excellence, creativity, and reliability in the industry.
John’s commitment to quality and customer experience earned him significant recognition: he was awarded Phoenix New Times Best of the Valley for five consecutive years, a testament to both his craftsmanship and his ability to build trust with clients across the valley. Whether leading teams, serving communities, or building a business from the ground up, John brings integrity, adaptability, and a deep commitment to excellence to every endeavor.
Kim Myers
Kim received a Associates degree in Water/Waste Water Treatment
Kim has been in the swimming pool Industry since 1993, with a couple breaks in between from the swimming pool industry, Kim has also worked as a road construction inspector and has also started her own business, working with her farm animals which is still currently working, along with Tribal Waters.
Kims achievements over the years include working as a Diver making underwater repairs, performing service work on equipment, building new pools, and remodel pools as a field superintendent. Kim has also worked and currently works as a swimming pool remodel salesman.
Kim has been certified in water treatment, ACI – Concrete Field Testing Technician, ATTI – Aggregate, Soil Compaction, Asphalt Field Testing Technician
Kim has started her own business which allows her to work with her farm animals.
Kim’s hobbies and interests are animals. Kim likes to spend free time team roping, team penning, and gymkhana on her horses. Kim is also milking her goats and sheep to make soaps and lotions. Kim loves to spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Elaine Sena
With a design background and over a decade of experience in the pool industry, Elaine understands that a pool is more than just a backyard feature, it’s the heart of the home. Having lived in Arizona for over 50 years, Elaine understands our unique desert landscape and the lifestyle it demands.
Having raised her own daughters with a pool at the center of their home life, Elaine knows firsthand the magical memories that are created poolside. This personal connection drives her passion for helping homeowners design their own private sanctuaries. At Tribal Waters Pools, Elaine combines a keen eye for aesthetics with ten years of technical knowledge to create custom outdoor spaces where families can connect, relax, and build memories of their own for years to come.
Michael Northway
Michael is a seasoned swimming pool design consultant, sales professional, and estimator with over 25 years of experience in the aquatic industry. He joined Tribal Waters LLC in early 2025, bringing with him decades of hands-on expertise in Swimming pool, Spa and Water Feature design, consultation, and construction, with a strong focus on customer service.
Michael began in the industry in 1998 by founding and operating his own successful business based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What started as a pond, fountain, and waterfall specialty expanded in the early 2000s into full swimming pool and spa design and construction. His company offered comprehensive services including design, construction, maintenance, and retail sales, earning a strong reputation for craftsmanship and customer service. He sold the business in 2023.
After taking a year to travel and recharge, Michael returned to the industry with Tribal Waters LLC, mainly due to its outstanding reputation and experienced team, where he continues to apply his deep technical knowledge and passion for thoughtful, functional design. His background as both a business owner and designer allows him to guide clients through the entire process with clarity, creativity, and confidence.
Outside of work, Michael is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys climbing, extreme hiking, and water sports. He relocated to Phoenix to be closer to family and to embrace the next chapter of life, combining professional excellence with an active, outdoor-focused lifestyle.
John Wendling
Raised on Long Island, New York, I later moved to Arizona with my parents, uncle, and grandmother. Arizona is also where I met my wife, and we’ve been happily married since 1986. Together, we’ve raised a wonderful daughter who continues to inspire us.
Throughout my career, I’ve been recognized for delivering exceptional customer service and have earned multiple international awards for my pool designs. Outside of my professional life, I’m a percussionist with a deep love for music, especially live performances. I take pride in translating ideas into inviting, functional spaces that feel personal and purposeful.
